Cardiovascular disease (CVD)

CVD is one of the leading cause of death worldwide. In the UK, Black Africans, African Caribbeans and South Asians in are at higher risk of developing high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes.

Poor cardiovascular health can cause coronary heart disease, heart failure, strokes,  chronic kidney disease, peripheral arterial disease and the onset of vascular dementia. Furthermore it disproportionately affects people from the poorest communities. Too many people are still living with undetected and poorly managed high blood pressure (BP) and raised cholesterol.

Coronary heart disease is preventable, know the risks, make the right choices, for a healthier you.
